PHILOSOPHY
It can be frustrating and heartbreaking to see your child struggling in any aspect of life. I will work with you and your child to understand her unique traits and strengths, building upon these and teaching the skills needed to develop social and emotional resilience to better navigate life’s challenges. My ultimate goal is for your child to be happy, thriving, successful and well-adjusted in all aspects of life.
Rebecca Sears received her Doctoral Degree from Pace University in Manhattan, and began her career as a school psychologist. She has worked in a Community Mental Health setting in Asbury Park for 5-years, and sees children, adolescents, and young adults in private practice. Therapeutic techniques utilized include those from EMDR, Positive Psychotherapy, Solution Focused Therapy, CBT/TF-CBT, DBT, Humanistic Approach, the Strong Kids/Strong Teens Resiliency Program, and Project Happiness Curriculum.
Group Therapy can be a cost effective alternative to Individual Therapy. Therapy Groups can complement Individual Therapy nicely, in teaching skills, normalizing emotions, & gaining support and confidence.
